Nathan Watemberg, M.D., child neurologist and epileptologist, immigrated from Colombia to Israel in 1983 as a young physician. He completed his pediatric residency at Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva, and thereafter completed a child neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. Upon his return to Israel in 1998, he joined the pediatric neurology unit at Wolfson Medical Center, Holon, where he acted as the director of the pediatric epilepsy service. In 2006, he was offered and accepted the position of chairman of the child neurology unit and the child development center at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, where he continues to work to this day.

Prof. Watemberg's professional and academic careers are outstanding. As of December 2009, he had published over 70 peer-reviewed articles in the medical literature, and was recently appointed as associate editor of the Journal of Child Neurology, published in the U.S.A.. He also serves as a reviewer for many reknown neurology, epilepsy, pediatric, and general medicine journals. Prof. Watemberg is also a member of the National Committee of the Israeli Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy, as well as a member of the steering committee of the Israel's Child Neurology and Child Development Association. He is a senior lecturer at Tel Aviv University's Sackler School of Medicine.
